Rod Leaver
Global Chief Executive Officer |  | Appointed to his current role in January 2008 and based in Sydney, Australia.


Rod has 30 years experience in the property investment and funds management industry. Most recently, Rod was Executive Chairman of the Ronin Property Group, managing total funds of A$2.4 billion. Prior to this, Rod co-founded and worked as Chief Executive Officer of listed property investment company, James Fielding Group, and was also a co-founder and Executive Director of Paladin Australia Limited.


Rod was previously a National Director of the Property Council of Australia and was their NSW President for three years. He has also held positions on the NSW Heritage Council, the Historic Houses Trust Foundation, the Property Industry Foundation and also the Sydney Cancer Foundation.

Rod is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and a Director of the Green Building Council of Australia

Frank Krile
Global Chief Financial Officer |  | Appointed to his current role in October 2005 and based in Sydney, Australia.


Frank has global responsibility for the financial management, reporting and review function of the investment management business. Frank also plays a key role in the business development function of investment management.


Prior to joining Lend Lease, Frank was an Associate Director in Corporate Finance at investment bank ABN AMRO. Frank has more than six years of experience in investment banking and capital markets, specialising in the real estate sector. Prior to this Frank worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Financial Advisory Services, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.


Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting major) and a Bachelor of Law degree with First Class Honours from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, and is a Legal Practitioner of the ACT Supreme Court.

Rob Hattersley
Global Chief Investment Officer |  | Appointed to his current role in June 2005 and based in Sydney, Australia.


Rob joined Lend Lease in 2000. In his current role, Rob works closely with the CEO and CFO and has responsibility for the establishment and delivery of strategy, product creation and Lend Lease capital allocation/business pool. Rob manages capital relationships, strengthening client relationships and reducing product/investor risk to Lend Lease and its joint venture partners. This includes working closely with regional heads in the delivery of business plans.


Since joining Lend Lease, Rob has held a number of roles including Business Development Manager, General Manager Investment Management and Head of Wholesale Funds. Rob has been involved in the real estate and funds management industry for the past 20 years, including 12 years with the Mirvac Group where he was Director, Investments. Rob’s career has included roles such as Fund Manager Real Estate Securities BZW Investment Management, Fund Manager Wholesale BZW/Mirvac and General Manager for the ASX listed Mirvac Property Trust.


Rob holds a Bachelor of Business degree (Land Economy major) from the University of Western Sydney in Sydney, Australia, and real estate and valuation licence qualifications.

Tarun Gupta
Chief Executive Officer, Australia |  | Appointed to his current role in February 2007 and based in Sydney, Australia.


Tarun joined Lend Lease in 1994. In his current role, Tarun works closely with the Australian Fund Managers in optimising Investment Management’s performance in the Australian market.


Tarun has extensive investment management experience including acquisitions, divestment, asset management, development management property management, leasing, research, capital raising capital management and investment analysis. He joined the Australian Prime Property Fund (APPF) Retail in 1999 with portfolio investment management responsibility and was appointed Portfolio Manager for APPF Retail in 2000 before assuming the role of Assistant Fund Manager - APPF in 2002.


In June 2005 Tarun was appointed Fund Manager APPF, and retained this role in addition to becoming CEO, Australia until April 2008.


Tarun holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics major) with Honours from the University of Delhi, India, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Newcastle, Australia.

Eng Ooi
Chief Executive Officer, Asia |  | Appointed to his current role in March 2006 and based in Singapore.


Eng has been with Lend Lease for 25 years. Eng is responsible for the growth of the Investment Management and Retail business in Asia.


Eng has held various senior finance positions both in Australia and overseas. Prior to his current role, Eng was the CFO for Lend Lease Communities, Asia Pacific based in Sydney, Australia. Eng has extensive property and finance experience across the various Lend Lease businesses, including five years spent as CFO Lend Lease Asia in Singapore. During this time, Eng was part of the senior team who established the Development and Investment Management business in Asia.


Eng holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting, Finance and Systems majors) with Merit from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

Tony Brown
Chief Executive Officer, UK & Europe |  | Appointed to his current role in January 2008 and based in London, United Kingdom.


Tony has 17 years’ experience in the property investment and funds management industry in the UK. Prior to joining Lend Lease, Tony spent 14 years at Schroder Investment Management where for the last six years he was the Fund Manager responsible for their flagship fund, the £2 billion Schroder Exempt Property Unit Trust. In 1999, Tony launched and was Fund Director for the Schroder Emerging Retail Fund. This became the top performing fund in the entire IPD UK universe and subsequently won the Estates Gazette Fund Management Award in 2003. Tony started his career at Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield) in London, and spent four years in a combination of their valuation, investment management, and retail agency divisions.


Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Land Management) with Honours from Portsmouth University in Portsmouth, England, and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

Gary Buechler
Chief Executive Officer, Americas |  | Appointed to his current role in April 2008 and based in Northern New Jersey.


Gary is responsible for the growth of the Investment Management business in the United States, including management of our US public-private-partnership business. Gary joined Lend Lease in 2002, holding a number of positions within Lend Lease. Prior to his current appointment, Gary most recently served as the Chief Commercial & Legal Officer for Lend Lease Retail & Communities US. Gary formerly was a partner with an international law firm based in New York City and specialized in the practice of real estate law.


Gary received an A.B from The University of Michigan and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Carmel Hourigan
Chief Executive Officer, APPF |  | Appointed to her current role in April 2008 and based in Sydney, Australia.


Carmel has responsibility for the overall Fund performance of APPF, including setting and implementing Fund strategies, identifying and implementing new opportunities, reporting to the Board and liaising with investors.


With over 15 years experience in the property and funds management industry, Carmel most recently held the positions of Director of Specialised Real Estate Funds and Fund Manager for Challenger Diversified Property Group. Prior to this she worked with Colonial First State as Fund Manager for the Direct Property Investment Fund and the listed Commonwealth Property Office Fund. She has also held various research and advisory roles with companies including Stockland Group and Jones Lang LaSalle.


Carmel holds a Bachelor of Business Land Economics, a Graduate Diploma of Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
